Get ready for an out-of-this-world experience! We're thrilled to announce a unique opportunity to connect with French ESA astronaut, Sophie Adenot, as she embarks on her first mission to the International Space Station. But here's where it gets controversial... or at least, thought-provoking!
On Monday, January 5th, at 14:00-15:00 CET, Sophie will be hosting a hybrid press conference at ESA's European Astronaut Centre in Cologne, Germany. This is her final media event in Europe before her historic launch, and you're invited to be a part of it!
Sophie has chosen a meaningful name for her mission: "εpsilon." It symbolizes the power of small contributions and how individual parts come together to create something extraordinary. Just like the mission itself, which involves a wide range of tasks on the International Space Station, including European-led scientific experiments, medical research, Earth observation, and maintenance operations.
The program for the day is packed with exciting activities. Media representatives can arrive at EAC at 12:30, followed by a tree-planting ceremony at 13:30 (an exclusive event for those present). The main event, the press conference with Sophie Adenot, will commence at 14:00, offering an opportunity for media questions. The conference will conclude at 15:00.
For those attending in person, there will be limited opportunities for 1:1 interviews with Sophie and experts. To request an interview, please email media@esa.int in advance, and priority will be given to media representatives present at EAC.
