London Critics' Circle Awards 2026: 'One Battle After Another' Dominates! (2026)

The 46th annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards have concluded, and the standout winner this year is "One Battle After Another," which took home the prestigious titles of Film of the Year, along with accolades for Director of the Year and Screenwriter of the Year, awarded to Paul Thomas Anderson and Sean Penn for Supporting Actor of the Year.

In an impressive display of talent, Jessie Buckley earned the Actress of the Year honor for her role in "Hamnet," while Amy Madigan was recognized as Supporting Actress of the Year for her performance in "Weapons." Timothée Chalamet claimed the title of Actor of the Year for his work in "Marty Supreme," and Josh O’Connor was celebrated for his body of work in 2025, which included notable performances in "The Mastermind," "The History of Sound," and "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery," though it’s curious to note that his role in "Rebuilding" did not receive recognition.

The film "Pillion" also shone brightly at the ceremony, securing two wins: British/Irish Film of the Year and the Breakthrough Award, which went to its writer/director, Harry Lighton. Additionally, Robert Aramayo was honored as the Breakthrough Performer for his impactful roles in "I Swear" and "Palestine 36."

Special awards were given to Cynthia Erivo, who received the Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation, and Guillermo del Toro, who was honored with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film.

The award ceremony took place at The May Fair in London on February 1, 2026, and was hosted by renowned critic Mark Kermode.
