Michael Mosiman 2026 SX Update: West Coast Confirmed? | Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing (2026)

Breaking News! Michael Mosiman, the Yamaha Star Racing rider, is likely heading back to the West Coast for the 2026 Supercross season. After a tough year and a brutal crash, he's back on his bike and ready to compete.

At the start of the season, Mosiman was aiming for the 250SX East Division, hoping for more preparation time to build a solid base for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship and the SMX Playoffs. He also wanted to redeem himself at Daytona International Speedway, where he's had a rough history. He even mentioned, "I don't know what coast I'll be racing..." But things have changed.

But here's where it gets interesting... Mosiman, coming off a neck injury that kept him out of racing from June 2023 to March 2024, now seems set to race the Anaheim 1 SX and the 250SX West Division. His teammate, Haiden Deegan, the defending 250SX West Champion, is expected to compete for another title on the West Coast, which could have played a role in the decision.

Mosiman's social media update confirmed the shift, stating, "It’s looking like probably West Coast... so, super excited. It’s going to be a great season. It’s gonna be huge.”

In his previous two years with Yamaha, Mosiman has only made 12 main event starts, all in 250SX West. He secured a podium finish in Texas in February. He has a total of ten 250SX podiums, including his first main event win at the 2022 San Diego Supercross.

Here's a quick look at his recent results:

  • 2025
    • Salt Lake City - 250SX Showdown: 5th
    • Denver - 250SX West: 7th
    • Philadelphia - 250SX Showdown: 18th
    • Seattle - 250SX West: 6th
    • Indianapolis - 250SX Showdown: 15th
    • Arlington - 250SX West: 3rd
    • Glendale - 250SX West: 5th
    • Anaheim 2 - 250SX West: 7th
    • San Diego - 250SX West: 9th
    • Anaheim 1 - 250SX West: 15th
  • 2024
    • St. Louis - 250SX West: 18th
    • Seattle - 250SX West: 6th

And this is the part most people miss... The potential lineup for the 250SX West could be Deegan, Mosiman, and Anstie, while Davies, Thrasher, and Brown could compete on the East Coast. This could make for some exciting races!

What do you think about Mosiman's decision? Do you agree with his strategy of focusing on the West Coast, or do you think the East Coast would have been a better choice? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
