Barcelona 2-0 Osasuna: Raphinha’s brace lifts Barça seven points clear of Real Madrid
A second-half assault from Raphinha carried Barcelona past a stubborn Osasuna, widening their lead atop La Liga to seven points ahead of Real Madrid.
What looked like a frustrating night for the champions—who enjoyed 21 attempts to Osasuna’s three—turned on its Brazilian winger, who struck in the 70th minute and added a late tap-in in the 86th after a deflected cross found his path.
Torres thought he had opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, beating the offside trap and finishing from a Marcus Rashford cross, but VAR ruled the goal out because Raphinha’s heel was marginally offside during a short-corner build-up.
Torres also came close again when meeting Lamine Yamal’s dangerous inswinger, only to loft his volley over the crossbar.
Osasuna remained dangerous on the break, testing Barcelona’s defense. Early in the second half, Victor Muñoz surged past Balde but fired wide with only goalkeeper Joan García to beat.
Barcelona’s pressure finally paid off when Pedri advanced through midfield, fed Raphinha, and the forward coolly finished beyond Sergio Herrera.
With Osasuna’s resistance broken, Raphinha sealed the win in stoppage time with a simple tap-in after a flowing move.
Seven weeks earlier, Barcelona trailed Real Madrid by five points following a 2-1 Clasico defeat. Now, they sit seven points clear after a seven-match winning streak in the league.
Real Madrid can cut the gap to four points if they beat Alavés on Sunday.
